Since 1999, BB&K has served as special litigation counsel for the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) on air quality issues. SCAQMD is the air pollution control agency for the South Coast Air Basin in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. SCAQMD controls emissions from stationary sources of air pollution. This includes a wide range of activities from the development of an Air Quality Management Plan that serves as a blueprint for all future rules necessary to bring the area in compliance with Federal and state clean air standards, to the equipment permits issued to businesses, and everything in between.
