Wide Reach: National and Global Impact

The credentials of BB&K lawyers typify our national reputation

For many years BB&K attorneys have represented national and international businesses and organizations, worked on matters with U.S. and global impact, and participated in projects and organizations with far-reaching significance.

However, the firm’s 2011 acquisition of Washington, D.C.-based Miller & Van Eaton officially launched BB&K into the national arena.  The acquisition, and subsequent opening of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, provides a platform for BB&K to represent its clients’ interests before lawmakers in the nation’s capitol.  BB&K attorneys are active in legislative, regulatory and judicial matters and have held high-ranking positions in the White House, the U.S. Senate and the Federal Communications Commission.

In addition, BB&K attorneys have successfully argued a number of important matters before the U.S. Supreme Court. Our reputation in water rights issues led to one of our partners being appointed by the U.S. Supreme Court as a Special Master to resolve a water dispute between Kansas and Colorado - a controversy recently settled after more than 20 years of debate.

On the international scene, BB&K attorneys have served as legal consultants to foreign governments, international financial institutions and foreign investment counseling firms in South America, Europe and Asia on a variety of telecommunications policy matters including regulation, restructuring, liberalization and privatization. Members of our firm have helped to craft water laws in South Africa, Malaysia, Trinidad and Pakistan. And our managing partner, Eric Garner, was the first American and the youngest lawyer to chair the International Bar Association’s Water Law Committee in 2009 and 2010.
