IRVINE, Calif. _ Best Best & Krieger is pleased to announce that HongDao Nguyen, an associate in the firm’s Irvine office, is among the 100 minority attorneys named to the Lawyers of Color Western Region Hot List 2014. The second annual Hot List, which recognizes early- to mid-career minority attorneys excelling in the legal profession, includes in-house counsel, government attorneys and law firm associates and partners. Nominations were received from mentors, peers and colleagues. The Lawyers of Color selection committee also researched bar association publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates.

Nguyen, who assists clients in transactional and litigation matters concerning municipal government and land use law, currently serves as assistant city attorney for the City of Stanton, Calif. and as deputy city attorney for the cities of Lake Forest and Aliso Viejo, Calif. She received her law degree from Loyola Law School and her B.A. in Communications from Biola University. Prior to joining the legal profession, Nguyen was a reporter at the San Jose Mercury News.
