Martin Fine joins California's premiere School Law practice


SACRAMENTO, Calif., September 21, 2004 – Martin Fine has joined the partnership of Best Best & Krieger (BB&K) as a member of the School Law and Special Education Practice Group, resident in the firm’s Sacramento office. He has been practicing school and public agency law since 1987, most recently as general counsel to the Sacramento City Unified School District.

Mr. Fine has extensive experience advising school boards and administrators on a variety of legal matters including personnel, special education and constitutional issues, conducting litigation and administrative proceedings, and developing risk management and conflict resolution programs. Prior to Sacramento City Unified School District, he was general counsel for Grant Joint Union High School District. His law firm background includes practicing public agency and school law at both Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard and Lozano, Smith, Smith & Woliver.

Mr. Fine received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1987. He also earned a Masters degree in Counseling Education. Mr. Fine is a certified trainer in negotiations and advanced mediation, which he studied at Harvard Law School. He is also an adjunct professor at University of San Francisco Graduate School of Education, University of California at Davis and Sacramento State University.
