Press Releases

Best Best & Krieger LLP will welcome five new attorneys by the first of August. All five join BB&K from the law firm of Brown, Winfield & Canzoneri. They are:

Scott H. Campbell, partner, who practices in the areas of municipal law, employment law, construction management and litigation, and business and commercial litigation, and served as Brown Winfield’s municipal law practice group co-chair. Mr. Campbell has practiced law for 18 years.

Brant H. Dveirin, partner, who practices in the areas of land use law, real estate litigation, business litigation, construction litigation, redevelopment, environmental, eminent domain and inverse condemnation. Mr. Dveirin has practiced law for 18 years, and previously was with BB&K.

John H. Holloway, of counsel, who practices in the areas of general litigation, eminent domain, environmental law, and real estate litigation. Mr. Holloway has practiced law for 10 years.

Christopher M. Pisano, of counsel, who practices in the areas of public entity litigation, real estate and business litigation, and environmental law. Mr. Pisano has practiced law for eight years.

Edward J. Szczepkowski, partner, who practices in the areas of eminent domain and inverse condemnation, land use law and general litigation. Mr. Szczepkowski has practiced law for 18 years.

BB&K’s full-service public and private sector practices are prepared and eager to support the attorneys’ public agency and private entity clients.

“We are excited about the opportunities that these talented attorneys will bring,” says John D. Wahlin, managing partner. “The firm currently represents clients throughout the state, including Los Angeles County. The addition of this group reinforces Best Best & Krieger’s position as a firm which can provide a wide range of legal services to public and private sector clients in Los Angeles.”

The five attorneys will initially reside in BB&K’s Irvine office. However, in an effort to best serve their Los Angeles County clients – as well as BB&K’s growing client base in the County – the firm is currently exploring office space in Los Angeles that will accommodate continued growth.

“We are pleased to be joining one of California’s premier law firms with expertise in representing both public agencies and private clients,” says Dveirin. “We were looking to join a firm with a history of long term stability and who could serve the many and growing needs of our client base. BB&K is a 114 year old firm with an established track record of excellent legal services and a state-wide presence.”
