Nancy Park is a partner at Best Best & Krieger LLP where she works with clients in both the private and public sector, focusing on real estate transactions, finance and business contracts. Ms. Park represents private and public real estate entities, lenders and borrowers, landlords and tenants, and large and small businesses. Some of her private clients include institutional asset managers, agricultural product processors, ranch owners, manufacturing facilities, developers, movie/television studios, international and regional banks, and nature conservancies. Public clients include cities, special districts, joint powers authorities and hospitals, among others.
Her practice includes real estate leasing, acquisitions, finance, development, and joint ventures. Ms. Park also forms partnerships and limited liability companies, and handles related corporate matters including business acquisition, financing, disposition and dissolution. Developed during her varied real estate, finance and business background, her approach is to learn and understand the business or entity she advises so that she can provide practical business and legal counsel, thereby becoming a trusted advisor.
Prior to joining Best Best & Krieger, Ms. Park was the CEO of The Evergreen Company, a veteran Northern California developer of retail and office projects. As CEO she handled financing, general counsel, administrative and joint venture matters.
Ms. Park was a transactional real estate attorney with McDonough Holland & Allen PC from 2000 to 2006. Prior to that, she was an investment officer for the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). In that capacity, she was responsible for investing $1.8 billion in real estate assets, formulating policy and investment strategies, and negotiating and restructuring several major asset management contracts for over $1 billion in timber assets. Additionally, she has more than ten years of commercial real estate finance experience for several regional banks.
Ms. Park is a member of the State Bar of California, Sacramento County Bar Association, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW)-Sacramento, and director of Lambda Alpha International. She previously served as chair of CREW Foundation's Grant Making Council (2007), as CREW-Sacramento president (1999) and as a CREW national delegate (2000-2001). Ms. Park has been recognized by CREW-Sacramento as a Woman of Impact (2008), National Networking Award winner (2001) and Member of the Year (2001).
Ms. Park is very involved in the Sacramento community as a volunteer leader for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and as a youth soccer coach. For several years she led CREW-Sacramento’s joint effort with Sacramento Girl Scouts to host a commercial real estate career day for teenage girls and has been a mentor/leader at Camp CEO, the Bay Area Girl Scouts’ camp for at risk girls.
