John H. Holloway is a member of Best Best & Krieger’s Litigation, Eminent Domain and Environmental Law & Natural Resources practice groups and is managing partner of the firm's Los Angeles office. He has extensive experience representing both public agencies and private businesses in various aspects of real estate and business transactions and litigation, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, property valuation, environmental, redevelopment, construction, and regulatory and land use matters at the trial and appellate levels.

Mr. Holloway's litigation experience includes the representation of cities, redevelopment agencies, transportation agencies, school districts and private developers. Notable projects include acquisition of right-of-way for the construction of the Los Angeles to Pasadena Gold Line, acquisition of school sites for the Paramount and Los Angeles Unified School Districts, defending the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority in an inverse condemnation action seeking to enjoin construction of the Alameda Corridor, and representing large property owners including Lockheed Martin Corporation and Union Pacific Railroad Company. Mr. Holloway's environmental law experience includes complex matters involving CEQA, CERCLA, groundwater contamination, and the valuation of clean and contaminated property. He has represented clients in environmental matters before the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Toxic Substances Control and regional water quality control boards. Mr. Holloway has served as trial counsel at trials, arbitrations, and argued before the California Court of Appeal. He has also handled a variety of complex real estate transactions for public and private clients.

Mr. Holloway is a member of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (litigation and real property sections). He received his J.D. cum laude from Tulane Law School in 1995, where he served on the Tulane Moot Court Team, an editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law, and as a legal research and writing instructor. Mr. Holloway earned his B.A. in Government from the College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1988.
