Kimberly A. Byrens

Kim Byrens is a partner in the Public Finance practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. She has been in the firm’s public finance group since 1990. Ms. Byrens has worked on a broad variety of transactions as either bond counsel, underwriter’s or disclosure counsel. Such financings include Marks-Roos Joint Financing Authority lease or enterprise revenue bonds, Mello-Roos bonds, assessment district bonds, revenue bonds, tax allocation bonds, and certificates of participation. She has also worked as bond counsel in several complex special tax bond restructures which revived development. She has worked on many structured financings including variable rate demand obligations, commercial paper notes, auction rate obligations, as well as the restructuring of these types of variable rate obligations.

Ms. Byrens is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the State Bar of California and the Riverside County Bar Association. She graduated from the University of California at Irvine in 1987 and received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1990. Ms. Byrens has been with Best Best & Krieger LLP since 1990 and became a partner in 1999.
