Samuel L. Emerson

Of Counsel

Sam Emerson is of counsel in the Litigation practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP.  He has litigation experience in a number of private and public areas of the law.

Mr. Emerson provides legal services for a number of public agencies on a variety of litigation matters.  Mr. Emerson has successfully litigated many public law cases pertaining to land use and property issues, such as receiverships, revocation of conditional use permits, and obtaining injunctive relief against public health and safety hazards.  Mr. Emerson also has advised public schools on student speech and organization policies and has experience litigating issues surrounding Indian Gaming.

Mr. Emerson belongs to the American Bar Association and State Bar of California.  He is admitted to practice in all courts in California as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.  Mr. Emerson is also fluent in Spanish and helped organize literacy programs for the National Institution of Education for Adults (INEA) in Puebla, Mexico. 

Mr. Emerson received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 2002.  He received his B.A. in International Relations from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
